Glenn Miller

 Glenn Miller

Glenn Miller was the creator of the Glenn Miller Band that was one of the biggest bands in the 1930's and 1940's. Miller did not complete college but decided to work making music. Miller was able to create a distinctive sound in those decades by using a clarinet to have the lead melody. "In the Mood" has been heard in most movies. "Moonlight Serenade" is also amazing. Miller's music was distinct and was one of the best bands of the 30s and 40s.

Miller was an impressive musician and also served in the military during World War II. Miller enlisted in the Air Force and was the leader of the Army Air Force band in the 1940s. Miller decided to serve in the military during the Second World War displaying bravery and patriotism.

He enlisted in 1942 and in 1944 his plane fell. Miller was respected by Americans for his amazing band music and was considered among the top musicians of his times along with top crooners Rudy Vale (who also served in the Second World War) and Russ Columbo. Miller may have been envied by socialists or racists who saw that Miller lifted morale of the troops with his amazing music in the 1940s. (Carole Lombard was also sabotaged via airplane crash most likely for successfully raising money to help the troops fight Hitler and the narzis.)

Despite opposition and possibly sabotage, Miller is remembered being one of the best musicians of all times who also fought tyranny. Miller made upbeat band music, was a leader, and was industrious. Miller's life described the importance of positive qualities and also of being industrious. (We can choose positive and uplifting music instead of discouraging and low beats per minute music.)
