The Creators of the Film, Enemy of the State

The Creators of the Film, Enemy of the State

Enemy of the State is an amazing film that criticizes the illegal espionage of bureaucracies such as the FBI, NSA, and CIA. Enemy of the State was made in the 1990s describing how bureacracies have attempted to usurp power and illegally surveil lawful citizens. The movie describes how a photographer is taking pictures of birds and wildlife in a pond when a murder occurs. The photographer takes video and leaves the park and pond.

The individuals that removed an individual from existence were FBI agents and were also informed that someone had taken video of their actions. The FBI agents follow and attempt to steal the video from the photographer who places the video in the shopping bag of another individual. Without knowing of the situation, the individual that has nothing to do with the taping of the video footage leaves the store and does not know that he has footage of a crime being committed.

The FBI agents then follow the individual and surveil his location attempting to get rid of the footage that shows a government agent getting rid of an individual. The individual does not know why he is being stalked and followed around (even by the FBI surveillance van). The protagonist finds out from a retired NSA agent that he has footage of a crime and that the NSA illegally surveils citizens. (The retired NSA agent appears to be paranoid at the beginning of the film, yet as the film progresses, it is seen that he is actually right. The NSA has individuals listening in on devices and phones. He gives advice to the protagonist to place his electronic device in an empty potato chip bag with aluminum foil in the interior to obfuscate the GPS location. (Side note: I bought myelin "aluminum" sheet space blankets online to try out the experiment and the space blankets were stolen and never delivered along with a Lifewater straw. I would not advise using potato chip bags because they contain sodium chloride from salt that can damage phones.)

The retired NSA agent attempted to help the protagonist persist knowing that the NSA and FBI were surveilling him illegally through espionage. The movie ends with an impressive twist while the protagonist survives the ordeal. I remember talking about this film with another individual in elementary school when the film came out. The movie may have been made after Watergate and criticizes illegal espionage by the NSA and FBI. The movie also came out on Mexican television channels and described the need to have healthy skepticism of bureaucracies who attempt to usurp power not given by the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights. Hoover is essentially credited as using illegal espionage through illegal bugging in the Civil Rights Movement against Levison, MLK, and possibly even JFK since the 1960s. After 9/11, the Patriot Act attempted to allow for more illegal espionage through the NSA and FBI while public place shootings did not decline after 2001. This is another sign of the times. (This is not to cause fear but to promote healthy skepticism amidst the times that we live in. The film tells us that there is illegal gangstalking and bugging done by the FBI and NSA. Despite this, we conquer the snake by trusting in the GOD of gods,  GOD Almighty. The Soviet Union had spies and informants everywhere and still collapsed in the 1990s and even Stalin did not survive to the 1960s. Kruschev also had informants everywhere and was also exiled and removed from power. Nixon attempted Watergate and resigned after knowing that he was going to be successfully impeached. Nixon resigned knowing he was going to be impeached and did not want to be the first president impeached. Ellsberg stated truth and became a hero of Democracy and Freedom of Speech amidst persecution from Nixon and the FBI.)
