Ricardo from the Brazilian National Team
Ricardo is a soccer player who played for the Brazilian national team and also for top soccer clubs including A.C. Milan. Ricardo was a fast and impressive midfielder being able to assist and score goals. Ricardo was one of the top soccer players at the time in the 2000s.
Ricardo was part of the I am Second campaign that described the need to preach King Jesus Christ Eternal LORD and Savior. Ricardo along with other individuals described the importance of King Jesus Christ in their lives. Ricardo was a soccer player yet used his renown for the worship of King Jesus Christ.
When Ricardo scored goals, he would show his undershirt that read "I belong to Christ". Ricardo also testified about the importance of King Jesus Christ describing the need to be humble and to worship the Creator instead of practicing self-worship.
While Ricardo was a talented soccer player playing at the top level, he decided to give the glory to GOD Almighty and not be idolatrous. We learn that humility is important to recognize GOD Almighty over the things of the world.
