Rafael Marquez was a Mexican soccer player who was able to start playing professional soccer in the Atlas soccer club of the Mexican League. Rafael Marquez would develop impressive discipline and determination being one of the greatest defenders in the Mexican League. Rafael Marquez's talent and dedication led him to be recruited by France's Monaco.
Rafael Marquez would play for La Ligue's Monaco and impress soccer fans. Rafael Marquez would be starter and defender. Due to Marquez's impressive talent and dedication, he would be recruited by Barcelona. Marquez would astound with his amazing defending skills and also having great passing technique. Marquez did not settle for Monaco and decided to play for Barcelona. Marquez kept improving with each soccer game.
Marquez would be one of the most impressive defenders of the team being able to not only defend but also provide goal scoring opportunities with long passes through the air (called lobs). Marquez was also able to score goals being a defender. It is extremely rare that defenders score goals since they mostly occupy the lower half of the field and have the priority to nullify opposing attacks from midfield and strikers. Marquez would score more than a few goals through corner kick headers describing the talent of the Mexican defender.
Rafael Marquez would help Barcelona be the greatest soccer club in the mid 2000s. The attack was superb with Xavi, Iniesta, Ronaldinho, and Eto and the defense was also phenomenal with Puyol and Marquez. Marquez would be the greatest Mexican defender of all times being able to help Barcelona win their first Champion's League in the mid 2000s challenging Real Madrid's reign. Marquez would describe how talent and discipline can help an individual improve and reach the top. Playing against the Champion's Leagues best forwards and midfielders allowed him to be among the best defenders of all time. Barcelona became the top team being the Champion of champions.
Criticism From Socialists
Despite being able to play for the best soccer team in Barcelona and winning everything in the most competitive soccer leagues of the world, socialists criticized Rafael Marquez. There were actual socialists who stated that Rafael Marquez was conceited... based on which criteria? Being indisciplined and problematic to the team? No because he helped improve the team with discipline and dedication even being made captain. Making the team decline from prominence? No because Barcelona began winning games against club teams it had not beat in the past. Being rude and envious? No because it is noted that he was humble and dedicated.
Then what criteria did the socialists use to criticize Marquez? He spoke in a Spanish accent when he returned to Mexico. The Mexican socialists criticized the accent instead of paying attention that he had made it in the best league of the world and allowed Mexican soccer players to know that playing in the top teams in Europe was possible. (Hugo Sanchez after returning from playing in Real Madrid spoke in a Spanish accent and socialists did not criticize. They did however criticize Sanchez being made Head Coach of the Mexican Team when he had barely started.) Despite the envy, Rafael Marquez's was able to help us see how dedication and self-discipline can allow oneself to improve. Marquez played and won everything with Barcelona describing that talent and discipline is important.
Appearances in the Mexican National Team
Rafael Marquez was able to be starter in the Mexican National Team. His dedication was so impressive that he played in four World Cups. Marquez was able to play for Mexico in four world cups and was captain for most of the Mexican Soccer Team Squad appearances. Marquez was able to win multiple Gold Cups and help Mexico qualify to the World Cups in qualifying matches.
Rafael Marquez is noted to be one of the best soccer players of all times. Marquez was able to improve with each soccer game and became better with time. Marquez was able to describe that dedication is needed and also the need to have self-discipline. Marquez probably did not indulge in parties and was set on playing for the best soccer team in the world. He was able to accomplish his goal of playing for Barcelona and also instruct younger talent in Mexico that it is possible to play in Europe by being dedicated. Younger Mexican talent also began to be recruited by European teams in the mid 2000s and 2010s.
