Major General McAuliffe

 Major General McAuliffe

Brig. General McAuliffe took the town of Bastogne, Belgium from the nazi socialist germans. McAuliffe was able to secure the town and allow for the Allied army to obtain territory in Europe. After the invasion of Normandy on D-Day in 1944, Allied Forces began to gain territory in Europe including Belgium.

In December 1944, American forces were surrounded and outnumbered by nazi socialist german forces. Brig. General McAuliffe did not fear and did not think much about being outnumbered. McAuliffe and his soldiers maintained their position and held out against a larger army. The german nazi commander sent a message to McAuliffe to intimidate the American General.

The nazi socialist german commander told McAuliffe to surrender. McAuliffe did not want to send a response having thrown the message into the trash bin but ended up writing a message to the nazi socialist commander. McAuliffe stated that he would not surrender and that the nazi germans were crazy.

Despite being outnumbered, McAuliffe told the nazi commander that he was crazy, held his position, and kept fighting. McAuliffe decided to persist and never capitulated to the nazi socialists. American reinforcements would arrive and defeat the nazi socialist germans. Instead of McAuliffe retreating, it was the german nazis that retreated. It is noted that among the reinforcements included General Patton who destroyed nazis forces with quickness commanding tank units. The American forces would devastate the nazi socialists and win the war. Brig. General McAullife would receive honors and be promoted to Major General for his bravery and valor in the Second World War.
