Jack Dempsey

 Jack Dempsey

"A champion is someone that gets up when he can not."

Jack Dempsey was a top boxer in the United States in the 1920s and 1930s. Dempsey was one of thr best boxers changing the sport of boxing. His dedication and discipline caused the sport of boxing to change with the need to add more agility. Boxers needed to be agile to defend instead of keeping the upright defense (the boxing defense in the 1920s and 30s consisted of holding the arms and hands upward in order to defend against incoming strikes. Boxers began to duck, sway to the sides, and prioritize agility instead of the upright defense.

Dempsey was an amazing boxer who was impressive and was able to win the championship. He had losses but was able to recuperate and improve. Dempsey kept improving and caused the sport of boxing to evolve with needed agility. The modern sport of boxing has improved over the years due to the importance of cardio and agility. Cardio and agility have made the sport more dynamic, faster, and more interesting.

Dempsey was drafted for the First World War and he skipped service. Americans did not look too favorably at this and his popularity declined significantly. In the Second World War, Dempsey served in the Coast Guard showing that he had changed his mind and developed courage. Dempsey decided to be patriotic and served during the Second World War.

Dempsey changed the sport of boxing and also decided to serve in the military in the 1940s. We learn that Dempsey is considered one of the top boxers of all times. Dempsey is remembered as an amazing boxer who changed his mind and decided to be patriotic.

Manny Pacquiao

 Manny Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao was a Philipino boxer who was able to take the boxing world by storm in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Pacquiao was able to train harder than most boxers and was able to even gain more attention than heavyweights. Pacquiao was able to defeat multiple boxers.

Pacquiao impressed with his fast speed and also powerful punches that led to almost half his fights being won by knockout. Pacquiao was one of the best boxers of the modern era and took the attention of boxing enthusiasts away from heavyweight fights. Despite not being a heavyweight nor tall, Pacquiao was definitely impressive in the boxing ring.

Pacquiao fights were never boring and were fast paced technical battles that highlighted his intense cardio training and powerful punches. Pacquiao did not shy from battling tough opponents and kept to integrity. When he fought against Juan Manuel Marquez, he did not cower from multiple fights despite Marquez being a tough contender. (I think the judges were biased against Marquez but do not think Pacquiao had anything to do with it being that Pacquiao kept on accepting new challenges from Marquez. Instead it was the boxing association judges who were dishonest and had a bias against a Mexican boxer seen also in the envy against Julio Caesar from the racist establishment.)

Pacquiao battled matches against multiple competitors and did not cower from difficult fights. Pacquiao is among the greatest boxers of all times having an impressive number of wins almost half by knockout. Pacquiao also described that hard work and dedication can help individuals be impressive. Boxing fans were appreciative of Pacquiao's boxing style that heavyweight fights took a hit in the ratings. This describes that hard work and dedication are important.

Rocky Marciano

 Rocky Marciano

Rocky Marciano was an Italian American boxer in the 1940s who became one of the most dedicated and disciplined boxers of all time. Marciano ended his boxing career undefeated never losing a single fight against another boxer. Marciano fought more than 40 fights without a single loss. He is denoted as being the greatest boxer of all times by many boxing enthusiasts.

Marciano also exemplified the importance of keeping dedication and discipline in one's life. Marciano was not a party goer and was a conservative being a devout Catholic. Marciano took his training with much seriousness and was noted to be among the most physicially fit boxers of his time. He never tired out and his dedication could not be matched.

Marciano was able to outtrain the competition keeping intense cardio workouts almost everyday along with boxing practice. Marciano took intense cardio workouts to outlast his competition and accomplished his goals. Marciano described that dedication to a sport is important and that cardio workouts are needed to maintain stamina.

Marciano also was not resentful and envious. Marciano respected his competitors and never went into underhanded ways to remove competitors from being competition. Instead of leading others to the party life or using fake relationships to make other boxers decline, Marciano worked harder than other boxers and took cardio seriously. Marciano was a natural born competitor and kept to fair play and healthy competition. His belief probably was also important never harboring resentments and leaving the negative emotions in the boxing ring.
