Anne Sullivan
Anne Sullivan was the tutor of Helen Keller who taught her how to read in Braille and use a manual alphabet when Keller was born deaf and blind. Keller had difficulty being understood until Anne Sullivan helped her from the Perkins Institute of the Blind. Sullivan had been trained by the Institute and kept encouraging Keller.
Sullivan did not give up on Keller who was able to persist in her vocation. Sullivan persevered with patience and determination knowing that she was making a positive difference in Keller's life. Keller and Sullivan were able to communicate due to Sullivan's instruction.
Keller was able to persist and thrive cherishing education and learning. Due to the support of Anne Sullivan, Keller was able to be a spokeswoman for the American Foundation of the Blind. Keller would fight for the rights of the blind, individuals with physical disabilities, preach pacifism, and the importance of civil liberties.
Anne Sullivan and Helen Keller were able to accomplish so much good and serve as inspiration to know that positivity is better than negativity and envy. Sullivan encouraged Keller, and Keller was able to have a positive life. We are able to acknowledge and appreciate that genuine empathy is important in life. Discouragements and envy are not needed.
