Flavius Josephus was a Jewish historian who was able to describe the importance of Jewish history and Christianity. Flavius Josephus was able to describe the importance of Jewish history since it was the first civilization to obtain a written alphabet (there were other civilizations that are somehow denoted to have obtained an alphabet prior to the Hebrews.) Josephus made the point that Jewish history attests to the first written alphabet being created by Jewish individuals. 

While Egypt had hyeroglifics, they were described as pictographs and not an alphabet. Assyrian cuneiform occured after Moses received the Torah and commandments. The Greek alphabet occured after Moses. Josephus described this in detail. Even contemporary books describe the Jewish alphabet and writing after other civilizations which is inaccurate.

Josephus was attacked by Romans who did not like that he wrote positively about Jewish history concerning the importance of Jewish customs and also Jewish individuals. Josephus was also attacked by Jewish individuals for writing about Christianity. This describes how despite criticism from both Jewish and Roman individuals, Josephus kept writing with veracity and determination despite criticism from idolators. 

Josephus criticized Apion's arguments since Apion lied and inaccurately criticized Jewish customs and culture. Josephus criticized Greek mythology since Apion criticized the belief in a good and benevolent GOD Almighty. Josephus gave amazing argumentation concerning how mythology does not make sense since fickle gods who even envy human beings are not gods. Instead a true GOD does not envy human beings but does discipline and destroy evil and envy. Josephus is considered a great historian.
