Patch Adams
Patch Adams is a real life physician who was able to enter medical school in his fortys. Patch Adams had worked multiple jobs before deciding to be a pre-med student and apply to medical school (prior to covid). Patch Adams was accepted and was a medical student who was disliked and hated by other medical students. Patch Adams did not care that he was disliked and kept having a sense of humor and empathy.
Patch Adams was disliked for being individualistic, independant, having a sense of humor, and beign positive. This probably happened in the 1970s or 1980s. Patch Adams was an amazing student and was able to be a physician who created a free clinic for individuals who could not obtain medical care due to the high prices of medical care. Patch Adams was able to practice empathy and goodness by providing free medical care.
We learn that Patch Adam's story was impressive because we were able to see that individuals can be independant and different from everyone else. We learn that Patch Adams was not exactly the same as everyone else. Patch Adams described that medicine is a science and also an art. Medicine requires both extensive knowledge of science and also genuine empathy. We learn that Patch Adams was authentic and also practiced genuine empathy.
The story of Patch Adams allows us to know that individuals can choose to be different, authentic, responsible, and good despite the opposition, adversity, and envy that they go through. Patch Adams did not allow the discouragements to change him from being a positive individual who cared about others. We learn that Patch Adams allows us to know that we can choose to practice genuine empathy and have filial love for humanity instead of hate and bitterness. We can choose to be authentic, positive, good, and unique while being far apart from discouragers and enviers and deny experimental covid "vaccines".
