Henry David Thoreau

 Henry David Thoreau

Thoreau was a unique and distinct individual who believed in abolitionism, was a pacifist, and preferred to persevere being self-sufficient than be a part of sycophantry. Thoreau was disliked by war mongerers and racists. Thoreau was able to think for himself in the 1800s making him distinct from everyone else. Thoreau understood that he did not have to be exactly the same as everyone else. He was fiercely individualistic and disdained fakeness and sycophantry.

In the 1800s, rather than be a part of individuals that he did not agree with, he decided to build his own cabin in the woods. Thoreau chopped his own wood (instead of having others chop his wood seen in Marx's story), built his own cabin, and persevered far away from those who wanted to keep slavery and loved unneeded warfare. Thoreau was probably envied and hated by racists and sycophants for being ruggedly individualistic.

He lived secluded and far apart from others in the 1800s. Rather than partake with racists and sycophants, Thoreau preferred solitude than be surrounded by fake people. Thoreau did not care about what others thought and kept being individualistic throughout his life. Thoreau wrote Walden and other books that described the importance of individuality, civil disobedience, the beauty of nature seen in GOD Almighty's creation of nature, and non-conformism. Thoreau wrote about the importance of nature and appreciating authenticity and uniqueness.

Thoreau was read by MLK and inspired MLK to use civil disobedience as a form of protest against racism in the 1960s. Thoreau was amazing for being able to be ahead of his time. Thoreau was misunderstood and maybe hated for being different. Thoreau never used violence and instead spoke about pacifism and civil disobedience. Thoreau also minded his own life living in a secluded cabin, writing, and avoiding sycophants in the 1800s. (Thoreau also was a Trancendentalist philosopher. Trancendentalism was popularized by Emerson and is a fake philosophy that accepts that there is a Creator, yet is not consistent with Scripture. Trancendentalism is not congruent with Scripture nor supplemental to Scripture. We should avoid fake philosophies like Transcendentalism.) Nonetheless, Thoreau described the importance of individuality and non-conformism. Thoreau was against slavery and unneeded warfare.
