 Richard Wurmbrand

Richard Wurmbrand was a Romanian individual who initially was a socialist. When he grew up, he accepted King Jesus Christ LORD and Savior and decided to be a Christian. Wurmbrand forsook communism for King Jesus Christ. Wurmbrand would then decide to be a Christian preacher leading other individuals to Christianity. 

Wurmbrand would be harassed and persecuted by socialists for preaching the Gospel and obedience to the commandments of Moses. Wurmbrand was sent to gulag and envied for opposing communism. Wurmbrand was given the option to renounce the true faith for a watered down version of the Gospel that favored socialism over Christianity. Wurmbrand refused and was sent to gulag in Romania. 

Wurmbrand spent years in gulag where he was treated negatively. He was reviled and physically assaulted by socialists for keeping his faith. Similar to stories from the Gulag Archipelago, Wurmbrand refused to compromise his faith for socialism. Wurmbrand survived gulag and was freed.

Wurmbrand then decided to keep preaching the Gospel. He did not get discouraged despite having been deprived of his liberty for his faith. Wurmbrand helped other individuals who had been persecuted for their Christian belief. He also left Romania while it was in the Soviet Union and lived in the United States. Wurmbrand wrote multiple books about his life and did not get discouraged nor departed from the faith. His life describes how it is possible to keep the faith despite persecution. Wurmbrand also helped describe how GOD Almighty does not forsake. Wurmbrand lived to long life despite being persecuted by socialists. Romania was one of the 50-60 nations from the Soviet Union who renounced communism for Christianity and capitalism in the 1990s. The Soviet Union collapsed in the 1990s describing how Christianity speaks truth. Wurmbrand may have been another reason why the Soviet Union collapsed. 

Freedom of Religion

The Founders of the Constitution described how each individual is created equal. This means that each human life has dignity. We have seen how there are human rights given in the Constitution. We learn that there is the right to freedom of religion (without harming others), right to bear arms (for self-defense), and freedom of speech (without slander). This describes how each human being is important. We learn that the United States allowed individuals from all nations to worship GOD Almighty. Solzhenitsyn was able to live in the US after being exiled. Solzhenitsyn was able to write books and specifically the Gulag Archipelago.

Wurmbrand also was able to live in the United States and write and publish books on Christianity. We learn that the snake hates Christians seen in how Christians were persecuted in the Soviet Union for refusing to practice socialism. Despite envy, individuals kept persevering and helped see how socialism leads to envy and opposing Christianity. We learn that Scripture tells us that we have autonomy to decide if we want to worship GOD Almighty or not. The Founding Fathers included this understanding in the Constitution and Bill of Rights. We learn that while it is better that everyone worships GOD Almighty and practices empathy, GOD Almighty gives the choice. This is while socialism does not want individuals to have a choice. There are countries that have chosen to avoid socialism for Christianity. We learn that Democratic Republics are not liked by socialists. This describes how each country is unique and distinct also. Romania and Russia have improved since the 1990s along with other countries that chose Christianity and Democracy. We can persevere learning about our human rights and also Democratic Republics that have chosen autonomy and goodness over socialism.
