Akira Toriyama and the Creators of Dragon Ball Z
Akira Toriyama created a great anime in Dragon Ball. Toriyama created three series including Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT. Dragon Ball described the life of young Goku who is sent to earth to destroy the earth yet hits himself in the head after falling down and suffers amnesia. Young Goku is naïve and positive and instead decides to fight against evil. Dragon Ball describes how young Goku who was supposed to be evil and destructive chooses to be positive and actually fights against evil.
Dragon Ball Z describes a grown up Goku who is still positive and hates evil. Goku fights against evil and even battles against his brother Radditz who was sent to destroy earth since Goku did not do that. Radditz tries to convince Goku of being evil and helping Radditz destroy the earth. Goku and Radditz are from the saiyan race that is from a distant planet. Goku is the son of Bardock, a saiyan. Bardock opposed Frieza who was a maniacal and destructive tyrant. Bardock was not from high class and yet had bravery to fight against Frieza while Vegeta's father did nothing and even went along with Frieza.
Vegeta is the prince of the saiyans being the son of the saiyan king yet is a henchman of Frieza. Goku is not from nobility yet fights for good. Radditz is sent to destroy earth, yet Goku and his friends defeat Radditz. Dragon Ball Z describes how it is possible to be good and improve each day. Goku improves each day fighting for good and hates evil. Despite going against Vegeta, Radditz, Nappa, and other saiyans, Goku is positive. Vegeta envies Goku for not being nobility and also because Goku keeps improving. Goku fights against evil and is autonomous while Vegeta envies and attempts to justify his allegiance to Frieza with cowardice.
Goku improves throughout the series and even overpowers Frieza. Frieza was noted to be among the most powerful individuals yet misutilized his power for evil. Goku while not being nobility and considering himself an ordinary human being, is able to destroy Frieza. In the final battle, once Goku had defeated Frieza, Frieza begs Goku to spare him. Frieza being treacherous and underhanded, waits for Goku to turn his back and attempts again to harm Goku. Goku knows Frieza's intention and destroys Frieza (We must avoid fake socialists who do not know how to fight fair). Dragon Ball Z describes that hard work, dedication, discipline, and empathy are important. Goku is courageous and gets better each day. Goku also is positive and humble. Throughout the series, there is the distinction that Goku improves because he is kind and also brave while Vegeta envies Goku. Goku perseveres and describes the importance of goodness. Toriyama made an impressive series that described the importance of kindness, bravery, empathy, and goodness while repudiating cowardice, envy, malice, and deceit. Dragon Ball Z describes the importance of kindness and bravery. While Goku minds his own life and is impressive, Vegeta envies Goku. Despite the envy, Goku improves, does not have negative emotions, and keeps integrity throughout the series. It may be that Christianity influenced Dragon Ball Z being that it describes the importance of humility, empathy, kindness, and integrity. Dragon Ball Z made the 1990s impressive. Dragon Ball Z may have been created in the 1980s or 1990s but was aired in the 1990s. The version of the 1990s was in Spanish. The American dubbed version in English aired in the 2000s and was edited to remove some parts and include the main story (also called the abridged version.) Dragon Ball Z is noted to be the top anime of all times. (There are other good animes to watch like Attack on Titan. We should avoid negative animes that seek to promote socialism, envy, and idol worship. I remember watching a few episodes of Ranma 1 1/2 yet somehow did not watch the whole series. Looking back, Ranma 1 1/2 probably was promoting transvestism or transgenderism. We should avoid socialism and idolatry).
Dragon Ball Z Repudiates Racism
Dragon Ball Z also speaks out against racism. While Goku was not actually a human being and was a saiyan, Goku grows up like a human being. It is not until Goku grows up that individuals notice that he is not actually human. Despite Goku not being human, he has empathy and is good. In Dragon Ball Z, Goku has a group of friends who fight against evil. Goku respects his friends while actually being quite powerful. Goku is not maniacal nor tyrannical. Goku is humble and treats all his friends equally. Goku's friends are individuals from other planets and also human beings. Goku is not a racist nor envious.
Goku has a friend from planet Namek who is green and is treated with equality. Tien has three eyes, Chiotzu and Krillin are short, Yamcha is a human being like Krillin, and they are all seen as equals. Goku cares about his friends since there is empathy. Goku is not manipulative nor false. Vegeta envies Goku for being different and humble. Vegeta envies Goku yet constantly attempts to know about Goku. Goku is skeptical of Vegeta knowing that Vegeta acts based on envy discouraging Goku with revilings. Goku never trusts Vegeta knowing that Vegeta is envious. Despite the negativity, Goku never reviles nor insults his friends. Goku describes how true friendship should be. There is genuine empathy and equality. There is also the need to avoid fake phonies. Socialists envy positive people and revile for no reason. Goku actually negates helping Radditz (his own saiyan brother to protect the earth) and separates himself from Vegeta (who attempts to convince Goku of joining Frieza) and prefers his positive friends. Goku defeats Vegeta multiple times. Goku distrusts Vegeta for prefering to help Frieza than fight evil. Vegeta is also a racist seeing the superiority of the saiyan race yet fearing Frieza. Goku does not care about races (equality) and actually cares about empathy and goodness. Goku is an amazing character. We can persevere far apart from negative people and socialists.
The Importance of Self-Restraint
Dragon Ball Z also describes the importance of self-restraint or self-control. This describes the manner that we need to persevere with discipline. Goku improves because he is disciplined and trains hard. Goku actually improves by exercising and working out. When young, Goku being a saiyan, is able to turn into a giant werewolf when he sees the full moon. Saiyans have tails and are also described being human like yet when they see the full moon can turn into giant werewolves. Goku turns into a werewolf when young and causes destruction.
After such events, his tail is cut off which prevents him from being a werewolf. Goku is able to persist without ever turning into a werewolf. Goku is able to control his emotions and is positive. Goku is disciplined throughout his life and actually gets better with age. There is the lesson that a saiyan is supposed to improve and not stagnate. This applies to Goku who trains everyday and increases in might. Dragon Ball Z describes the importance of discipline and dominating the emotions. Goku is dedicated and disciplined and gets better throughout the series.
