Renes de Cartés was a mathematician who innovated in the field of mathematics and was also a Catholic. De Cartés instructed the need to learn mathematics and also the need to be skeptical. This means a healthy skepticism and not paranoia. Healthy skepticism meaning having the ability to ask questions that can lead to the truth. De Cartés described the need to use mathematics and also healthy skepticism to keep learning.

Solzhenitsyn described in the Gulag Archipelago that he was instructed to have healthy skepticism concerning the temporary lies of socialism by an Orthodox Christian. While Solzhenitsyn was still a socialist and idolatrous, he remembered the instruction and correction. Solzhenitsyn later remembered the advice and chose to accept it once he began to understand that socialism is based on temporary lies that contradict themselves. 

Solzhenitsyn began to question everything once he became a Christian and began to notice the incongruencies of socialism. Solzhenitsyn remembered the phrase, "question everything" by De Cartés. Solzhenitsyn was told by the Orthodox Christian that he was exiled because he knew too much about different subjects and the socialists could not allow him to instruct others in the truth. Socialists envy humble and empathic individuals.

We learn that we can keep learning different subjects yet most important is keeping fidelity to GOD Almighty. The worship of GOD Almighty allows us to persevere even with persecution, envy, and opposition. We learn that Solzhenitsyn wrote the Gulag Archipelago due to his healthy skepticism based on the Orthodox individual's advice and Renes de Cartés. The publishing of the Gulag Archipelago was one of the reasons the Soviet Union imploded in 1989 or 1990. This describes the importance of speaking truth and not lies.
